The good and the bad

The bad:

We are all home with the stomach bug. It hit Ryan, Aly and I hard last night. Hopefully Brianna escaped this one. We are having a pajama day and resting from last nights adventures. We appear to be on the mend as of late this afternoon

The good:

We are working on the concept of sharing with Brianna. She frequently says "MINE" and then takes what she is interested in. Aly has had a few choice outbursts due to the new birthday toys. This is what she thinks of sharing:

Aly's Birthday Celebration

Tons of pictures - this afternoon Aly had her birthday party. 17 kids tearing through the indoor play place. I was so thankful that we had it here instead of our house. It rained all afternoon and it would have been crazy and chaotic if we had has hosted it.

She had a great time - she is asleep on our couch as I type this. Brianna is out in her crib. Maybe we should celebrate like this every afternoon?

Ohh how I miss my friend Aruba and an afternoon with friends

As we bundled up to leave this morning, I was missing Aruba tremendously. Putting winter jackets and tights on is getting old. I was really hoping that when we got back, Spring would just be here. Somehow that did not happen.

Aly celebrated her birthday at preschool today with the Dora cupcakes. I wanted to take a picture of her in her birthday hat, but somehow it got dismembered before we got home.

This afternoon we met up with our neighborhood friends Jennifer and RJ for a little fresh air. It was still cold but we managed to get in a little time outside

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALY

Yesterday my little girl turned three *sniff* *sniff* We have been talking about her birthday for a while. So when she woke up and asked if it was her Happy Birthday, I could finally say YES. We had a quiet day since we flew back and got in late Saturday night.of her We did venture out to get her a new bike and go out to dinner.

She has her birthday party next weekend and she is really excited about that. Here are a couple of pictures of her small birthday cake and the cupcakes that we made for school.

Our last day.....

These were a couple of the animals that we saw tonight. We went out to a nice dinner as a family and the sand crabs were out on our walk home. Below that is one of the iguanas that is around the pool all the time. Aly called them Izzy after the Dora iguana.

Check out all of the help that we had packing our room.

Our dinner tonight was awesome. We ate on the beach with a gift card that we had gotten earlier this morning for seeing another time share. Aly was dancing to the music. Both girls were fantastic through all of the different courses. They were so tired on the way home, so it made going to bed that much easier
Aly is really sad that we are leaving tomorrow. She keeps asking to stay and have a few more days. I am amazed at how much fun she has had here and how a week in the pool has improved her swimming so much.

Soo Goodnight from ARUBA!

Just Another Day at the Beach

We spent the day at the pool and the beach again. Aly played with Greg in the sand for a while this afternoon. Brianna does not care for the sand. Once she gets it on her hands she is all done.

I am sad that tomorrow is our last full day. The weather has been so nice and the girls have been great.

Wordless Wednesday - not so much

We took the girls on a glass bottom boat this afternoon to see an underwater reef and the fish. Yeah, it was pretty much a bust. Brianna was missing her daily 2 hour nap and Aly took one look at the fish and declared it was time for snacks.

Live and learn....

We are having a great time, the weather has been perfect. We are going to spend tomorrow at the beach in the sand.

A view from our room

These are pictures from our room. We love the view and balconies are great for when the kids are sleeping. The girls are loving the pool and the swimming. We are going into town tonight to celebrate St. Patricks Day.

A little slice of paradise

Today was wonderful. Something about swimming outside in March. Fresh air, lots of exercise ....our kids slept 13 hours last night. That makes a vacation. My bags arrived today, courtesy of Greg -I actually have CLOTHES. It is 5 pm and Aly is talking about going to bed - that is paradise. A couple of pictures from the last two days

We are here

I really wanted to post pictures but it took Ryan a good hour to get to this screen. We arrived safely yesterday - only one problem...

I had no luggage. We realized at the airport that my bag got left in CT. Yep, we never even put it in the car. Thank goodness that I was wearing my running shoes.

Quick stop in Aruba at the local sports store and I picked up a sports bra and running shorts. I was off at 4:45 am this morning.

In 2:16 I finished the Aruba Half Marathon. It was a great day - it rained most of the run which was really nice considering it was 82 at 6 am when we started.

We enjoyed our first day in the sun. The girls are beat and were in bed before 7. I will try to add pictures soon.
