ohhh how I love this girl

We went out to jump in puddles while Brianna was taking a nap..... however Aly insisted on changing her outfit so it matched her rain boots. Her favorite word is actually. She will say, well actually momma.....

Another funny coversation - I asked her where she wanted to eat lunch this afternoon - she replied Aruba, oh how I long for Aruba sunshine too.

Ryan recently had a "conversation" with a police officer in regards to speeding. Aly was with him and Ryan explained that the officer was talking to him about driving too fast. While waiting for the officer to return Aly wanted to know what was taking so long. Ryan told her that the police man was checking out the car.

While driving home from the gym this afternoon Aly was telling me to drive faster. I explained that I could not do that and the police might pull me over; to which she replied, don't worry mom they just check out your car.

Long Overdue

It feels like forever, but here are some shots from Maine - it is nice to be back in CT. However, our weather is ridiculous - 90 and humid all week. I will post some more when I get a chance

Picking peas

As we are ending our pea season - we went out today and picked our final pea pods for snack time. We also picked the beginning of our cherry tomatoes. The girls loved the fresh from the garden snack.

Last of the Iowa Pics and 4th of July

We began our trip home on the fourth and stopped in Cedar Rapids for the night. We had a blast at the fireworks with Bella and Aly - they both liked them.

The girls had a good time at the picnic and Ryan's 15 year class reunion - although the weather was rainy and it was a long drive.

Here are the five girls together, it is amazing how much they all look alike!

Home in CT but more from Iowa.....

We are back in CT but I still have a bunch of pictures to share - we went to the farm and spent the afternoon with the PIGS - they stink.

The girls loved the tractors and all of the animals that they could feed.

Check out these pigs!

Red Rocket

We are home in CT - I have about 5 days worth of stuff to still share.

We are glad to be home - and sleeping in our own beds. The last four nights were in four different places. The kids were incredible for such a long car ride and week in the car.

This was from last Tuesday - hopefully tomorrow I can get caught up

There is this slide in Washington, IA, it is really high - I mean really high.

We made Brianna go down it with one of us the first two times. She really wanted to go on her own. So we let her - check out the look of fear in the pictures below. She was smiling by the end.

We spent the day in Washington, with Great Grandma Miller.

Hy-Vee triathlon race report

The weather really could not have been better.

The swim did not get cancelled - the water was a warm 86 degrees.

The bike was fast and flat - a great tail wind coming back from the turnaround

The run was hilly - whoever said that Iowa was flat lied.

It took me over 20 minutes to get these two pictures to load so the swim and bike will have to do.

Did I mention I BROKE 3 HOURS - YAHOOOOOOO!

A trip to the Zoo

A little out of order, I am posting about the zoo before the triathlon.

On Monday, we traveled to the Blank Park Zoo. This is a great zoo for young kids. It takes a little over half of the day and there is a train and a playground in the middle.

Brianna is obsessed with birds. Every morning at our house she just stands out the window and says "tweet tweet" she spent the majority of her time at the zoo, loving the rainforest exhibit and the birds.

Aly liked feeding the animals in the petting zoo portion and riding the train.

Overall it was a great time and the girls were exhausted at the end of the day!

First Stop Cedar Rapids

So I did not get very far yesterday. We have just been busy. Our first stop was Cedar Rapids where we stayed with Derek and Shelby and their three girls. Five girls under 4 is a crazy house. Everyone had a blast. We spent the day playing, swinging and riding bikes.

Unlike the New England weather it has been hot and sunny here. It was really humid on Friday and I was a little nervous about the HyVee Triathlon.
