Our Day at the Zoo!

What an amazing day.  We ventured to the Philadelphia Zoo - the weather was great, the zoo was not crowded at all.  We bought a season pass it was that good.  We started out the morning with Aly directing, heading right for the Hot Air Balloon ride.  It is a tethered hot air balloon.

Here is our view of Center City Philadelphia from the balloon:

and George the camel - they thought that was so fun!

They are doing a large Lego exhibit - these monkeys are all made out of Legos - the girls got to collect cards from each one.

CHEESE

Face Painting - was a highlight

Pony rides

We fed the birds

We brushed the goats -

A great day!!!

Waiting and Waiting

And still no baby........

So we spent some time this afternoon cultivating and watering our plants so that they would grow.  Grandma is in town which makes it all good for the arrival of Miller #3.  Tomorrow we are headed to the zoo - hopefully the animals will scare the baby out.

We are teaching Aly how to weed - she loves to pick the acorns that have seeded out of the mulch.

This is the dress that I made Brianna - she is so cute!

Our Weekend

The weather was warm this weekend.....in the 90s and hot.  The girls spent most of the weekend planted on the deck with the little swimming pool and water table.

They dined on fruit leather and juice boxes

While Dad and Mom did this.....

Well, Ryan mostly planted - it was hard to bend over.  We managed to decide which shrubs to plan and started planting some of the other beds.  I commented to Ryan that the process seemed so much slower - he reminded me that we are 39 weeks pregnant and have a 2 and 4 year old that can be a major distraction.

Hopefully we will get the rest in the ground this week.

Enjoying a little sunshine

Slowly but surely I am knocking things off my to do before the baby comes list....this morning we did haircuts.  Both girls did great and we spent the afternoon outside in the sun.

Tonight Ryan and I are headed for what is probably our last dinner out before our new arrival.  This weekend it is supposed to be 90 here - the weather has been crazy!!!!!

Getting ready for the Preschool Prom

Yep that is right.  This morning when I dropped Aly off, there was an invitation to the Preschool Prom.  Of course given the fact that our oldest still pretty much refuses to wear pants, I am sure the Prom is going to be a hit.  So in May, we will be hitting the Play and Learn complete with a DJ for a Friday night prom.  I will keep you updated as to the progress of our "dress" search.

I am surely not mentioning this to Aly as there would be endless questions as to when the event is going to occur.  I can show you, what she changed into after school today, as her play clothes.  Of course you need a tutu to ride a bike!

Busy Bees

A little break since we have been busy.  We have had visitors since Saturday!!  Busy making princess castles, reading loads of books, doing puzzles and enjoying our Nonna and Bumpa.

We started swimming lessons again, and we decided to do one more round of gymnastics and dance.  The weather has been terrible here but we did manage to get some plants from a nursery this weekend and hopefully we will get them in the ground this week some time.

On the baby front - no news yet.  Still hanging in there.  Everything looks good, so we will wait and see....

38 Weeks

Tomorrow I will be 38 weeks.  I went in on Monday and my blood pressure was a little high, I was also measuring about a week ahead.  I thought maybe they might schedule an induction.  Nope - I went back today and my blood pressure is fine - it has never been high, so I was surprised on Monday.

All in all things are good.  I am not as anxious to get the baby out yet - this weekend we plan on moving the girls seats to the back of the van and getting some of the baby stuff out.  My parents are coming down to visit during their April vacation, so it will be nice to see them.

Wednesdays are great because we don't have to be anywhere in the morning.  This morning we stuck around the house - cleaned and did laundry.  It was nice not to have to rush out the door.

Alys Dance Show

Aly finished her first dance session in PA this afternoon.  They put on a show for the parents, it was cute.  They danced to a bunch of songs, and then performed with the ribbons.   Here are a couple of pics...

This is how Brianna sat through the entire 45 min show.....I was so impressed

In other news, I am still working on sewing some dresses.  I finished the first one for Brianna tonight - we will see how it fits tomorrow.  Here is the finished product.

RIP Dodge Intrepid

So this past weekend I was supposed to have a relaxing weekend without kids and in CT.  It has been a LONG time since I have spent the night away from the girls and having several consecutive meals without children was looking rather appealing.

Ryan insisted I take the Intrepid to CT, even though it is entirely unreliable and it meant that I had no access to a GPS.  Hmmm 9 months pregnant, 3 hour drive, with an unreliable car......I disagreed but took it anyway.

Long story short - it died.  The transmission is gone - well it does drive 30 mph but no faster.  For a short moment I considered driving it all the way back to PA and making Ryan drive it everyday to the train station.  It would surely ensure no speeding tickets, and serve him right for making me take it.

I was able to still see my friends and rent some apts, so it did not damper my weekend  that much.  I drove a rental home and we will be donating the intrepid.

All things girl

Instead of completing the absolutely necessary things prior to having Miller #3 arrive....things like putting in the car seat, packing a hospital bag, you know the necessary evils.  I spent the afternoon feeding into Aly's love of dresses and making her a summer dress.

She picked out the fabric.  Of course, purple with sparkles.  She did comment that it needed a little more "jewels".   Anyways, here is the finished product.  The girl is in love.  I did veto her sleeping in it tonight since it needs a little tweaking.

Maybe tomorrow I will attempt the stuff that needs to get done.....or I will sew Brianna's dress.

Simple pleasures

When we came home from school today, Brianna and Aly found a butterfly in the yard.  Brianna loves animals like Aly loves being a princess.  She could sit all day and watch anything from a worm to a horse.

After the butterfly had enough, both girls went running in to put on their wings and try to fly around.  Needless to say, they did not get very far.
